Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of this website. They are not the terms of an engineering engagement — those are negotiated and signed separately.

Effective 9 August 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site. That is the entire bargain — we are not asking you to accept anything else in exchange for reading about our services.

2. What These Terms Cover

These terms apply to this website and to inquiries submitted through it. They do not govern engineering work. Any engagement with Petty Technologies is governed by a mutual non-disclosure agreement and a signed scope of work, executed before any technical detail is exchanged and before any work begins. Where those documents and these terms conflict, those documents control. Our engagement protocol sets out that sequence in full.

3. Permitted Use

You may read this site, share links to it, and quote it with attribution. You may not copy it wholesale, republish it as your own, use it to train a commercial model, or scrape it at a rate that degrades service for anyone else.

4. No Unauthorized Security Testing

We are a security firm, so we will be direct about this: do not probe, scan, fuzz, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to this site or its infrastructure. Unsolicited testing is not a job application, and it is not authorized by our publishing a contact form. If you have found something, tell us at gregory.petty@pettytechnologies.com and we will respond in good faith to good-faith disclosure.

5. What You Send Us Is Not Confidential Yet

Information submitted through the intake form, or sent by email before an NDA is executed, is not received in confidence and creates no confidentiality obligation on our part. We treat inquiries discreetly as a matter of practice, but discretion is not a legal duty and you should not rely on it as one. Do not send classified material, controlled unclassified information, credentials, network topology, or vulnerability detail until a mutual NDA is in place.

6. No Engineering Advice, No Engagement Formed

Everything on this site is general information about our capabilities. It is not engineering, security, architectural, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation for any specific system or environment. Nothing here should be relied on to design, secure, or operate a real installation. Submitting the intake form does not create a client relationship, a contract, or any obligation on either side — it starts a conversation.

7. Intellectual Property

The content, design, code, and marks on this site belong to Petty Technologies unless stated otherwise. Third-party names referenced descriptively — hardware platforms, protocols, and software we work with — remain the property of their respective owners, and their mention does not imply partnership, endorsement, or certification by them.

8. Third-Party Links

Where we link out, we do not control what is on the other end and are not responsible for it. A link is a pointer, not an endorsement.

9. Availability

We do not promise this website will be continuously available or error-free. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it without notice. Uptime commitments we make for client systems are made in a scope of work, not on a marketing site.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

This website is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Petty Technologies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

14. Contact
